SJB MP Patali Champika Ranawaka declared yesterday that his movement, the '43rd brigade,' is ready to spearhead a single political platform against the ruling party.

Mr. Ranawaka told a press conference that he had already briefed Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa on the role of the 43rd Brigade.

“Mr. Premadasa has no connection to the 43rd Brigade. But, in response to a journalist's question, he responded, "We have previously briefed him about the role played by the 43rd Brigade." “I am not a fan of individual play. As a result, I'd like to state that the 43rd Brigade is prepared to spearhead a single political platform against the current government. The 43rd Brigade is working to develop a new generation of leaders who will serve as an alternative to the current government,” he continued.

Political movements such as Pivithuru Hela Urumaya, led by Minister Udaya Gammanpila, are being urged to join an united platform against the current regime, according to Mr. Ranawaka. In this regard, he stated, "We will not invite individuals to join the common platform, but we would like to invite other political movements to join us."
