Basil finally gets Finance

Basil Rajapaksa was recently sworn in as Finance Minister in the presence of President Gotabaya Rajapaksa.

The Minister of Economic Policies and Plan Implementation was sworn in by Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa, who previously held this position.

Basil had been negotiating with his brothers for the Finance Ministry since his return to the nation a few weeks ago, but he ran against opposition from within the administration, including Mahinda Rajapaksa's family.

Basil, on the other hand, will now take over as the country's new Finance Minister and will represent the SLPP in Parliament as a national list MP.
