The United Kingdom has added seven countries to its travel "red list," including Sri Lanka.

On Thursday, Britain added seven countries to its "red list" of places that require hotel quarantine upon return to England, including Egypt and Sri Lanka, in a review that also saw Portugal shift from "green" to "amber."

There were no new countries added to the green list of countries that do not require quarantine.

Afghanistan, Bahrain, Costa Rica, Egypt, Sri Lanka, Sudan, and Trinidad and Tobago are among the countries added to the "red list."

According to the administration, all revisions to the lists will take effect at 0400 (0300 GMT) on June 8.
