The SLMA sends a letter to the President outlining three major concerns about Covid.

COVID 19 infection prevention in Sri Lanka

The SLMA is eternally grateful to Your Excellency and the Government of Sri Lanka for declaring a "lockdown" (restriction of movement throughout the country) at the most critical hour, saving Sri Lanka from a major catastrophe: a breakdown of the country's healthcare system, which would have led to a breakdown of all systems.

I, along with the SLMA Committee to Advise on COVID 19 Matters, would like to bring to your attention the following important facts regarding the COVID-19 epidemic in Sri Lanka. Professor Neelika Malavige, Professor Malik Peiris, and Professor Kamini Mendis, in addition to SLMA Council members and Intercollegiate Committee members, contributed to the discussion.

1. Recommendation with regard to the continuation of the lockdown

2.The need to review the vaccination programmed

3. Reporting meaningful data
