The GMOA has raised concerns about inconsistencies in Covid's vaccination program and has requested an investigation.

The Government Medical Officers Association (GMOA) has urged the Health Ministry to investigate the discrepancies in the Epidemiology Unit and the Covid vaccination program as soon as possible.

The GMOA stated in a letter to Health Services Director General Dr. Asela Gunawardene that the media has brought to light an event involving the wasting of about 800-1000 doses of the AstraZeneca Covishield vaccine.

The GMOA went on to say that after investigating the situation, it was discovered that the Epidemiology Unit had published technically incorrect vaccination guidelines on the 28th of January, resulting in the mishandling of vaccine doses.
