Sri Lanka has the highest death toll in a single day.

Today, a total of 54 COVID-19 deaths were reported, setting a new record for the most deaths in a single day.

According to the Government Information Department, 15 deaths were reported between May 10 and May 31, with the remainder occurring between June 02 and June 7.

There are 32 males and 22 females among the dead, according to the report.

As a result, the country's death toll has risen to 1,844.
