The United States continues to issue a terror threat warning for Sri Lanka.
The threat of terrorist attacks in Sri Lanka has been raised by the United States. Because of Covid and the "danger of terrorism," Americans are being advised to reconsider traveling to Sri Lanka in an updated travel advisory.
Terrorists might strike in Sri Lanka with little or no warning, according to the US State Department, targeting tourist destinations, transit hubs, markets, shopping malls, and government institutions.
Hotels, clubs, restaurants, places of worship, parks, important sporting and cultural events, educational institutions, airports, hospitals, and other public spaces, according to the report, are also at risk.
Yesterday, the US State Department updated its travel advice.
Following an earlier update in May, the US Embassy in Sri Lanka reiterated that the travel advisory issued at the time was entirely because to the continuing COVID-19 situation in Sri Lanka, and that the terrorism danger level had not altered.
The US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has issued a 'Level 3 Travel Health Notice' for Sri Lanka owing to COVID-19, suggesting a high level of COVID-19 in the country, according to the latest travel advice.
"Your chance of getting COVID-19 and having severe symptoms may be reduced if you are completely vaccinated with an FDA-approved vaccine; please examine the CDC's particular advice for vaccinated and unvaccinated travellers before planning any overseas trip," the travel advisory stated.
