Pfizer jabs in Sri Lanka today

According to a minister, the first shipment of 26,000 Pfizer COVID-19 vaccines was scheduled to arrive in the country early this morning.

Prof. Channa Jayasumana, State Minister of Pharmaceutical Production, Supply, and Regulation, stated that Sri Lanka would be the first country in South Asia to use Pfizer vaccines against COVID-19.

With the delivery of more and more vaccines, the country's vaccine rollout has picked up speed. Pfizer, Sinopharm, Astrazeneca, and Sputnik V are among the vaccines now in use in the country. Furthermore, the National Medicines Regulatory Authority (NMRA) has given Moderna vaccine regulatory approval.
