This year, the government plans to purchase five million doses of Pfizer's COVID-19 vaccine.

The first consignment is expected to arrive in Sri Lanka in July, according to State Minister Channa Jayasumana.

The initial batch would include 300,000 doses of the Pfizer coronavirus vaccine, according to him.

Meanwhile, during the course of yesterday, 76, 346 persons received the coronavirus vaccine.

The second dosage of the AstraZeneca Covishield vaccination was given to 1,272 patients, according to the Ministry of Health.
