Despite the lockdown, the number of Covid patients is not decreasing, according to the PHI head.

Upul Rohana, president of Sri Lanka's PHIs organization, claims that despite the country's existing travel restrictions, the number of covid patients reported everyday has not decreased to the expected level.

Many people, according to Upul Rohana, are breaking the travel restrictions in place.

“We can expect a possible decline in the number of patients reporting by the end of next week with the present travel restrictions in place,” he continued.

“However, it may not be as effective as anticipated, as many individuals are abusing the removal of limits for basic services,” Upul Rohana continued..
