IGP instructs police officers not to harass public violating quarantine laws

Police officials are not to harass anyone who are breaking quarantine regulations, according to the IGP.

When enforcing the quarantine law, IGP C.D. Wickramaratne issued a circular to police officers instructing them not to harass or embarrass the public.

If a similar incident occurs in the future, the IGP stated that disciplinary action will be taken against senior officers. (Source: NewsWire)
